COURSE OVERVIEW
This is a half-day workshop designed to equip Risk Managers with Risk Management, Measurement and Control Best Practices for Central Banks and Financial Institutions. The workshop will focus on Key Risk Indicators which should be managed, measured and controlled for effective and efficient risk management and mitigation. The program will cover risk management and measurement criteria for good indicators, leading and lagging indicators. The program will also cover the process, procedures and techniques to integrate risk appetite and tolerance to key risk indicators (KRIs) at both threshold level as well as escalation trigger level. The program will cover among others testing and validation of KRI framework’s effectiveness as an early warning mechanism in cases of risk exposures.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
At the end of the half-day Program, participants will be able to;
- Understand the nature, scope and types of risks central banks and financial institutions may be exposed
- Identify appropriate risk indicators to measure different types of risks
- Build risk measurement and control framework that will be capable of indicating different risk tolerance levels
- Create Risk Measurement Indicators with good criterion and how to distinguish leading and lagging indicators
- Apply risk management and measurement process, procedures as a guiding mechanism for risk control based on levels of risk appetite and tolerance level
- Test and validate the effectiveness of risk measurement indicators and framework
